Prague Blog

Prague, Czech Republic.

I said Prague blog because it kinda rhymed and I like that. Lol.

My friend, Paige, and I came here and we really enjoyed Prague! We wandered around and were super casual. Everywhere you walk in Prague is intricate and picturesque! The buildings are colourful and timeless and the the cobblestone streets and old fashion cars take you back in time. We stayed on the opposite side of the river from the center, in an Airbnb, and loved it! It was a little more low key, which we liked.

I think we always need to talk food first and foremost. Okay. So obviously, schnitzel is a must. It’s always a must. Goulash is also tasty. TRDELNIK. You may think, holy cow what is this even? I understand. But once you’re there, you will see it everywhere! It is like a bread thing, that is warm and with sugar and has Nutella or other things inside! Amazing. Also, get a hot dog on da streets. Lastly, let’s talk Glühwein (AKA mulled wine). It is hot wine with spices. It rocks my world every time. We went in the winter, which I really enjoyed! I think it is kinda special in the winter. There are definitely more classic things you should try, but these are my essentials for food in Prague. I really like this wine bar, Vinotéka U Mouřenína! Cute.Another  legendary place I recall that we loved is, Cafe Louve. It is said that Einstein was a big fan of this place, back in the day!

Some things to do:

  • Old Town Square. In the winter, around Christmas, there are Christmas markets and they are perfect!

  • Charles Bridge. This is the main bridge and is always packed. You can get cute photos here. Always photos.

  • John Lennon Wall. It is colourful and you just need to see it! Snap a photo, fo sho.

  • Prague castle/St.Vitus Cathedral

  • Jewish Quarter. I really recommend going here. I have always liked learning about the Holocaust growing up. Mainly because I am not able to fully grasp how this could happen and how people can treat other humans like this. My heart is always heavy on this subject. You can feel the effects of the Holocaust lingering over the city and especially the Jewish Quarter.

  • The Dancing House. It’s just neat to look at.

Views on views on views. We went to 3 different places to see a view of the city! Thanks to a friend for recommending. We went to:

  • TV tower.

  • Petrin Tower

  • There’s a tower at the end of Charles Bridge, on the side of the city centre.

We went to an Ice bar and it was a great experience. You were parkas and have 20 minutes inside, because it is too cold to stay any longer. Everything is made of ice in there and you get a drink voucher and have 3 minutes to drink it before it melts. It’s connected to Karlovy Lazne, which is a 5 story club. We are not too much of the clubbin type but we went and had a ball. We mainly killed the game on the rap floor’s dance floor. Every floor is a different genre of music.
